Jon Weizenbaum is a health and human services consultant with over 40 years of experience in social work, policy and state government leadership, including as commissioner of the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) and other executive positions with the agency. Jon’s experience prior to DADS includes serving as policy director of the Texas Senate Health and Human Services Committee, and director of Governmental Affairs with the Texas Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse. Jon is a former member of the AARP Texas Executive Council and currently sits on the AARP national Volunteer Advisory Committee. Jon holds masters degrees from the University of Texas at Austin LBJ School of Public Affairs and the University of Texas at Austin Steve Hicks School of Social Work and an undergraduate degree from Brown University.
