Kristin K. Benton, DNP, RN, is the Executive Director for the Texas Board of Nursing. Prior to becoming Board Staff, she taught for the Austin Community College Vocational Nursing Education program from 2000-2012 and served on the Texas Board of Nursing from 2008-2012. She served on the National Council of State Boards of Nursing NCLEX Item Review Subcommittee and currently serves on the Awards Committee. Dr. Benton received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Florida, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing, a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing.
